We've been announced as a Silver Winner for The 3rd Annual Anthem Awards in Recognition of our Mission-Driven Work! 🙌 In the summer of 2021, three people were swept out to sea off the coast of Santa Cruz County. In the aftermath of this unprecedented surge in water fatalities, @santacruz_fire reached out to the California Fire Prevention Organization (CFPO) for help. CFPO created a forward-facing, public messaging campaign to teach the basics of #watersafety to the public through PSAs, and an internal training initiative for all County first responders, teaching the effectiveness of unified command in water emergencies. “The @anthemawards were born out of the desire to amplify and celebrate the voices that are creating #sustainablechange and to inspire others to take action,” said Patricia McLoughlin, Anthem Awards General Manager. “In a year where so much is at stake, it is incredibly important to recognize impact work and celebrate the progress happening globally.
