Meet Fran – Proof That a Dream Doesn’t Have a Timeline After dedicating 25+ years to a challenging career in human services, Fran’s life took an unexpected turn. Though she had always dreamed of being a writer—ever since a childhood book report wowed her mother—life demanded a pause. In her 50s, Fran wrote her first children’s book, The Turquoise Monkey, but had to step away when her son faced difficulties, and she took in her three young grandchildren, then just an infant, 2, and 4 years old. Now, years later with her grandchildren growing and thriving, Fran has returned to her creative roots. She’s re-released The Turquoise Monkey with fresh illustrations and a fun twist ending, and she's hard at work on her next book, Greta Otto—a heartwarming tale about a butterfly who teaches children (ages 8–10) the values and virtues they gather along life’s path.
