Known as a composer, painter, and choirmaster and considered the greatest Lithuanian painter and composer who ever lived. Čiurlionis' works show recognition to the national culture of the past of Lithuania and the nature of his native land. Among his most famous musical works are the symphonic poems "In the Forest" and "The Sea". Also pictured is a 50 Litas commemorative coin made in memory of Čiurlionis (1995). Another upload from LAP of Alfonsas Mikulskis!😀 This one from a 1977 mass. Mikulskis (1909-1994) was known for being a cellist, conductor, and composer. He had an eventful life full of music and spreading his knowledge. In 1963, he led a large children's ensemble "Aukuras", which he prepared for the 1966 and 1971 US and Canadian Lithuanian Song Festivals in Chicago, and released a record in 1968. A. Mikulskis accomplished a great deal of social, cultural and musical work. He was one of the founders of the "Tėvynės Garsai" Lithuanian radio hour in Cleveland and the long-time chairman of the Radio Club.
