Did you know that New City has not one, but TWO superheroes who call our school home? ✨🦸🏻‍♂️🧸💗 This week, PATTAN and his cousin, CARES Bear, joined us for the first assembly of the year to remind Kindergarten through 6th Grade students about both the Rules to Live By and the CARES skills. The Rules to Live By—Personal Best, Active Listening, Truth, Trust, and No Put Downs—are the golden rules of our school (they're even engraved into the steps!). The CARES skills (which stem from our Responsive Classroom approach) show us how to live them out: Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy, and Self-Control. How serendipitous that PATTAN and CARES Bear’s names form such helpful acronyms!
