Minnesota Vikings players stopped by to spend time with our adoptable animals!🐾 They ran plays with the pups, tackled some enrichment prep, and brought the kind of care and kindness that makes a real difference. Last week, Animal Humane Society rescued 61 cats from a potential wildfire evacuation zone in northeast Minnesota. With their caretaker’s cooperation and assistance from local animal advocates including Precious Paws Humane Society of Chisholm and Contented Critters, 61 cats and a Great Dane were brought to AHS where their needs are currently being evaluated. These animals are largely friendly and clearly well-loved, but some have medical needs that require immediate attention, such as spay/neuter surgeries and possible eye issues. Time is crucial in emergency situations like these. The wildfires have already consumed more than 37,000 acres of forest, which means our humane agents had to move quickly to ensure the cats’ safe release and transport.
