Dr. Ohde treats patients who are experiencing symptoms and conditions of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and digestive system. She treats hernias, dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). GI surgery is a constantly evolving field. Dr. Ohde comes from a science background and enjoys the challenge and advanced techniques she can use to help her patients. “I found medicine was a way that I can use science in a practical and fulfilling way," she said. Initially Lois TeStrake's care team had thought she had plugged bile ducts that were causing her jaundice, and she was scheduled for surgery. Then they discovered she had stage two pancreatic cancer.
