Meet Lauren, who designed this year's Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month t-shirt. She was only a year old when it was discovered that she had sickle cell disease. Lauren's childhood looked different from her peers', but she remained resilient in her journey.❤️ Under the care of Dr. Olufunke Martin, Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist and Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center, her daily treatments and medications have greatly improved her life.
