On Farm to School Night Out, Wednesday, October 8, participating restaurants and bars are pledging to donate a portion of their sales to support Rooted and REAP Farm to School programs. We're super excited to introduce these locally-owned businesses and share why we are so proud to be partnering with them! First up, Bandit Tacos & Coffee and Grampa's Pizzeria 🍕 At both his pizza spot on Willy Street and taco restaurant on West Washington Avenue, owner Gil Altschul uses as much local produce as possible, including from both restaurant's backyard gardens. In addition to composting with local group Brainplate Grows located at Rooted's Troy Farm, Altschul supports local nonprofits through the Community Cocktail program at Gib's, his cocktail bar, and by donating his time to support fundraising events like August's Bandit on the Farm.
