The Board of Trustees of Studio Arts College International (SACI) is happy to announce that it has signed an agreement with Accent Global Learning, a recognized leader in study abroad for over 30 years with an established learning center in Florence. Under this agreement, students wishing to independently study abroad in Florence will have the opportunity to do so starting in January 2023. Accent will offer academic courses in studio arts and design, in addition to liberal studies. The initial offering is for courses in design and in the visual arts. In each track there are 3 introductory level courses that can be taken by students in any major, and four advanced-level courses intended for students with previous studio experience, generally equivalent to a studio arts junior. Closure of Art School in Florence, Italy It is with great sadness and regret that due to the financial challenges caused by the Covid 19 global pandemic, Studio Arts College International Inc (SACI) has closed its education abroad and graduate programs in Florence, Italy. SACI was founded 46 years ago by renowned painter and Fulbright scholar, Jules Maidoff and became one of the pre-eminent art schools in Florence. The Board of Trustees would like to pay tribute to Jules and his legacy – it is because of his vision, talent and dedication and that of Mary Beckinsale, past Presidents and Deans and of all faculty and staff that so many students have benefited in such a meaningful way from having studied at SACI.
