FOLLOW-UP FRIDAY: From feral to fabulous… Mildred (formerly Scapegoat) came to us in April 2023, scared and unsure of the world around her. But with a little patience, a lot of love, and the perfect family, she blossomed into the quirky, confident queen she was always meant to be. Her purr-fect forever family adopted her on May 4th, 2023… and the rest is history. Check out the sweet update below from her mom and dad. . . Two years ago, in April, we welcomed Mildred Rose (formerly known as Scapegoat) into our home with the hope of helping her, a shy and feral 1-year-old kitten, adjust to the human world. Little did we know she would end up stealing our hearts. We spent countless hours just being present in 'her' room, gaining trust. She settled in quickly, claiming the house as her own before her tummy fur even had the chance to fully grow back. It was a heartwarming experience to witness her transformation, watching her discover the wonders of house cat life. (The sounds of the washer and dryer were especially fascinating - and don't get her started on breakfast). Mildred's favorite pastimes now include flopping down in dramatic fashion and requesting belly rubs, playing with her brothers, and proudly proclaiming her newfound confidence by squashing her hut – even though she’s still shy at heart. And, of course, her all-time favorite activity: playing fetch and chasing after balls. She’s become the ultimate drama queen of the house, filling a role we never realized we were missing but are so blessed to have. Her most recent hobby involves opening every single cabinet door while we are gone - well, I hope it's her, otherwise we also adopted a ghost.
