These inductees will join leaders like Col. NASA Astronaut Nick Hague, Sheree Utash, Dwane Wallace and Olive Ann Beech. The Link trainer was designed in the 1920s as the first commercially built flight simulator. This simulator was important in training pilots during World War II as it was capable of simulating various flight conditions including drift, radio static and turbulence. The Link trainer is credited with training over 500,000 pilots in its use, according to the National Museum of the USAF. KAM currently has one on display in our engine area. Find us at the intersection of South George Washington Boulevard and 31st Street South adjacent to McConnell Air Force Base. Open every day except Thursday. A 1927 Swallow a 1931 Stearman Model 4D just two aircraft on display inside the west wing. The B52 under restoration is a highlight of our ramp.
