🚨 ADVOCACY ALERT - IMLS at Risk! 🚨 As of March 14, 2025, the Institute of Museum and Library Services is on the White House and Department of Government Oversight and Efficiency’s (DOGE) latest list for budget cuts (https://shorturl.at/PoJkA) IMLS funding is a lifeline for museums nationwide, and makes up only about $55 million of the federal budget. These funds: ✅ Support critical infrastructure, technology, and training ✅ Fund educational programs that serve families, schools, and underrepresented groups ✅ Strengthen local economies through tourism and community engagement IMLS can only fund a fraction its of requests each year and every state has benefited from these grants. 🛑 Take Action Now! 🛑 Contact your representatives and urge them to: 👉 Protect IMLS from staffing cuts or elimination 👉 Safeguard already awarded grant funding 🔹 How to Get Involved: 📢 Call or email your representatives.
