🌼 For the first time ever, Florida has a Grand Marshal in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census - the wonderful Deb Mackey! A dedicated Florida Master Gardener Volunteer and Pollinator Ambassador, Deb is leading the charge as Florida celebrates its third year participating in the census. With a heart for protecting the “little magical creatures that grace our gardens,” Deb says she couldn’t do it without fellow Master Gardeners - “the core and the soul and the team that makes things happen.”Started by UGA Extension through the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the Great Southeast Pollinator Census is a citizen science project created to help protect pollinators across our region. Open to everyone (including gardeners, schools, families) the project combines education and action to build habitat, boost insect knowledge, and track pollinator trends over time.
