'Last month, Writing Through visited the Ponheary Ly Foundation , where I had the privilege of joining as an intern during their workshop. It has been such a meaningful experience to work so closely with the students, listening to their voices and watching their creativity come alive on the page. Throughout the workshop, we explored poetry, storytelling, and journaling, using these tools to reflect on identity, equality, and empathy. The students were thoughtful, curious, and brave in sharing their ideas, and I learned as much from them as I hope they learned from us. Being part of their journey reminded me of the power of words to open doors and build connections. What stood out most to me was the way the students supported one another, encouraging their peers, laughing together, and celebrating each other’s work. With the theme of gender equality guiding our discussions, it was inspiring to see how thoughtfully they engaged with such an important topic. Sue's book launch for her latest novel, 'Where We Find Ourselves' was a great success! A very good turnout at a wonderful outdoor venue at Kara Taylor Gallery in West Tisbury.
