Graduations are over, the classrooms are packed, and it hot as … well, that means one thing, the GenEd staff are off and running and the 2025 GenEd Teacher Fellows are getting ready for their flights to Armenia 🇦🇲 (fb)
Joining us for the first time in Armenia this year is Elizabeth Hudson, GenEd Curriculum Specialist, and long-time collaborator with GenEd on teacher development projects. Beth is a writer/historian. She has been a journalist (Washington Post), college instructor (UT Austin and TX State U), secondary history educator (Austin), and recently completed a master’s degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Gratz College. She earned her B.A. in Journalism from OU and her M.Ed. from Texas State University. She recently completed a book-length manuscript about a Holocaust survivor. She writes a regular column on using history books and literature in the classroom for the Texas state social studies magazine. In addition to writing, she conducts teacher training programs on genocide. Beth is the recipient of the Armenian Genocide Education Award from the Armenian National Committee of America and the Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award from Humanities Texas. (fb)
