🚨 Motor Vehicle Crash with Entrapment – Multi-Agency Response 🚨 📍 Abingdon, VA - Interstate 81 15.7mm 📆 May 29, 2025 Earlier today, the Abingdon Fire Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash involving multiple vehicles, including two with entrapment and one vehicle on fire. Upon arrival, our crews began immediate extrication operations to free individuals trapped in two vehicles. Fire suppression efforts were also initiated to extinguish the involved vehicle fire by VSP Trooper Norris with his in cruiser extinguisher and Mr Andrew Burke from Atmos Energy. Thank you Trooper Norris and Mr burke for your assistance during this incident! This incident required a coordinated response from multiple agencies. We were assisted by: 🔹Washington County Life Saving Crew, INC. 🔹 Washington County Fire Rescue #1 Inc 🔹 Virginia State Police 🔹 Abingdon Ambulance Service Thanks to the teamwork and swift action of all involved, the individuals were successfully extricated and patient care was promptly initiated. Washington County Life Saving Crew and Abingdon Ambulance provided medical care and transported patients to area hospitals for further treatment. 🚧 At this time, the roadway has been cleared and is open to all lanes of travel.
