🎯 Coach Spotlight: Vince Owen - Squirt A Meet Vince Owen — a native of Thompson, Manitoba, with over 40 years of playing and coaching experience. His hockey journey includes playing junior in Saskatchewan, earning an NCAA Division 1 scholarship to Ferris State University, and a brief stint in pro hockey. Vince has coached at nearly every level: Learn to Skate, AAA, High School — and for seven seasons right here with the Blades, where he also served as Vice President on the board. As a coach, Vince teaches that there are two things a player can control — attitude and effort. A good attitude and 100% effort not only help with development on the ice, but create great kids off the ice as well. His practices focus on skill development, pushing players out of their comfort zone, and building confidence through competition and repetition.
