The Michigan Pharmacists Association (MPA) is a professional organization dedicated to serving the interests of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and student pharmacists across the state of Michigan. Established over 140 years ago, the MPA plays a crucial role in advancing the pharmacy profession and promoting quality patient care through various activities and initiatives.
Mission and Activities

Organizational Structure
The MPA is governed by an Executive Board and a House of Delegates. The Executive Board oversees the business and financial aspects of the association, while the House of Delegates serves as the policy-forming body, responsible for developing and implementing policies that shape the organization's objectives.
Affiliates
The MPA has several key affiliates:
Michigan Pharmacy Foundation (MPF)
Established in 1993, the MPF supports projects that advance the pharmacy profession, offers scholarships to student pharmacists, and provides leadership development opportunities through programs like the Leadership Academy.
Michigan Pharmacy Political Action Council (PAC)
Created in 1968, the PAC promotes good governance and public health by advocating for pharmacy interests at the state and federal levels. It supports pharmacy-friendly legislative candidates and facilitates interactions between pharmacists and lawmakers.
Conventions and Meetings
The MPA hosts an Annual Convention & Exposition, which provides a platform for continuing education, networking, and discussing the future of pharmacy. This event attracts hundreds of pharmacy professionals from various practice settings.
Local Associations
MPA members are also part of local associations, which help build regional networks and support professional development at the local level. These associations are integral to maintaining strong relationships among pharmacists in different parts of the state.
