📣Alumni Spotlight!! Ariel Fanning After graduating from Ruskin High School, I began my journey at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). I am currently a junior pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources through the More in 4 programs, which enables me to complete my bachelor's in three years and my master's in the fourth year. I am also a Bloch Scholar, a member of Professional Career Escalators, and actively participate in mentorship through the PAL program. I currently maintain a 3.967 GPA and earned recognition on the Dean's List during my first semester, reflecting my commitment to academic excellence alongside my involvement in leadership and mentorship programs. Alongside my studies, I work in Human Resources at Hill's Pet Nutrition, a Colgate-Palmolive Company, where I am gaining hands-on experience in recruiting, employee engagement, and organizational development. Balancing academics and professional experience has been a rewarding challenge, and I am eager to continue building on both my academic and career goals. 20/20 Leadership has played a significant role in shaping my confidence, leadership style, and ability to connect with others. The program emphasized the importance of communication, accountability, and community involvement skills I rely on every day in both school and work. One lesson that has stayed with me is that leadership isn't about a title: it's about inspiring and supporting those around you. Through 20/20 Leadership, I also learned the value of mentorship and giving back. This inspired me to seek out programs at UMKC where I can both be mentored and mentor others.
