Ever since we said goodbye (for now) to the Class of 2025 last weekend, we haven’t been able to stop thinking about the lasting impact these Saints have had on our whole school community. We’ve watched them grow, evolve, make space for each other and others, lead, inspire, and find their voices. They upheld the school culture handed down to them, and our rising seniors will take that banner and carry it forward. Like school president Leah Horgan ’25 said in her Commencement remarks, we, too, can’t wait to see the memories made and stories yet to be written by this remarkable group. It was all blue skies and sunshine for Commencement this weekend, in which we said goodbye to the Class of 2025, the largest graduating class in the nearly 100-year history of St. Andrew’s. There was laughter, there were tears, and, oh, were there hugs! Saints were treated to a wonderful message by Commencement speaker Dr. Michael Atalay ’84 P’17,’19,’23, who encouraged the senior class to stay in “perpetual beta,” a phrase software programmers use to describe a system that remains in a constant state of testing, development, improvement—for these smart, inspired, curious, gritty, and prepared young people set to chart their next chapter, it was a timely reminder that we are all a work in progress.  Seniors, their families and friends, and Saints from years past who came to cheer on our graduates lingered on the Front Lawn until the early afternoon, swapping stories, memories, and deepening their relationships with one another and with the school. We have to admit, campus feels a little different today without our beloved Class of 2025. Although we feel their absence, their legacy, voices, and class culture remain. Besides, they know, like we do … 🎶 … just know you’re not alone, cause you’ve made this place your home … 🎶
