Reconsider how you dispose of your pumpkins after Halloween ennds. Dumping pumpkins at nature preserves is considered littering, and often illegal. Pumpkins are not native, and can smother native plants. Pumpkins also attract wildlife, which may increase their risk of being hit by cars, or spreading disease among species. Phyllis and Frank Yuhas Woods was the epitome of autumn this Sunday! Visitors marveled at the fungi speckling across the forest floor, the nuthatches and brown creepers flying by, and the beautiful foliage. This pristine nature preserve is closed to the public except for a few hours each year. Every fall, Red-tail invites our members and supporters to enjoy Yuhas Woods in the peak of fall color.
