In 2015, Potomac Conservancy collaborated with dedicated nature lovers and donors to crowd-fund $3 million to purchase the 1700 acres of land, preventing developers from doing so. Over those 10 years... 💚 Water quality has improved 💚 The landscape aesthetics were preserved 💚 Animals roam freely in their natural habitat 💚 Rare flowers were protected And one of the best parts about this 1700-acre easement is that you can visit it! Our River Our Waters Home Potomac Conservancy is an accredited land trust and regional clean water leader. Our local movement is driving significant change at the local level. Founded in 1993 our communitypowered conservation initiatives protect streamside forests reduce polluted runoff and strengthen our natural defenses to the climate crisis. Together with our 30000 supporters were returning swimmable and fishable waters to the Potomac River region.
