Here are some additional lessons from Exodus about how we should respond to God. We should take our concerns, and even our complaints, to God. Don’t compromise your faith or your obedience. Remember what God has done for you and teach it to your children. Saved people sing. We’re in a battle against our flesh. We need help in the battle against our flesh. Rejoice in God’s salvation. Share in ministry. Follow godly advice. Our sin separates us from God. Honoring God’s name means recognizing who God is and living accordingly. God commands us to follow His rhythm of work, rest, and worship. Honoring our parents (and other God-given authorities) honors God. We should seek to bless, protect, and preserve the lives of others. Everything we have comes from and belongs to God, and we must use it for His glory. Lying is a sin against God and other people. God commands us to speak the truth in love. Coveting reveals that our hearts are not satisfied with God. Contentment reveals that our hearts are satisfied with God. The fear of the Lord leads to obedience. We experience rest in Christ. We experience victory in Christ. We are invited to enter God’s presence because of the shed blood of Christ. God invites His people to bring Him an offering. Only holy people can approach God. As believers we can approach God through Jesus, our High Priest. As believers we serve as priests. God has provided a way for His people to have fellowship with Him. Confession is the correct response when we are confronted with our sin. Repentance is the right response to God’s holiness. Worship is the right response to God’s glory. When we willingly obey His commands, His provision is more than enough. As we finish Exodus, let these lessons remind us of God’s faithfulness and our calling to follow Him fully. (fb)
