Over the past week, students across campus have honored the Jewish High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Several preschool and lower school classes welcomed the Jewish New Year with the sweet tradition of apples and honey while learning about the meaning of Rosh Hashanah. In the boys’ upper school, students blew the shofar at assembly and also enjoyed apples and honey as part of the celebration. Members of the Jewish Awareness Club also shared with middle school boys about the spiritual significance of the High Holidays during assembly, followed with apples, honey, and challah. At SPSG, Rabbi Blustin of Baltimore Hebrew Congregation led the girls’ school in prayer and reflection during a special service. As an Episcopal school, we are committed to celebrating the religious diversity of our community.
