Cohort 2 of Future Innovators 2025 is complete—and these students lit up BIC Works @ MASS MoCA with creativity, purpose, and real-world problem-solving. Over two weeks in North Adams, 16 rising sophomores explored what it means to innovate for impact—through team challenges, member company visits, and workshops that stretched their thinking and skills. Led by Alex Rebelo, with planning and support from Jordan Callahan, Allison Mikaniewicz, Denise Johns, Shannon Rebelo and our Williams College interns, students: 🔹 Built human skills with Dennis Rebelo, Ph.D. 🔹 Applied structured problem-solving with Patrick Becker and Rich Peters (DMAIC) 🔹 Explored design iteration, the value of failure, and CAD 3D printing 🔹 Engaged with guest speakers from United Cerebral Palsy and National Grid 🔹 Participated in Lunch & Learn sessions hosted by MCLA and Berkshire Community College 🔹 Visited BIC member companies—Steiner Film, TOURISTS, and MCLA Their final pitches tackled real-world challenges—from early diagnostic tools to solar-powered community spaces—proving what’s possible when young minds lead with empathy and innovation.
