BIG NEWS! Hope has officially landed—literally. 50 life-saving Midwife Kits from our incredible partners at Direct Relief have arrived in Uganda! Bulamu Healthcare has already delivered these essential kits to 11+ health centers across 6 districts in Eastern and Western Uganda. Each kit is packed with critical tools—from sterile instruments to sutures and more—and they’re not just supplies. As Dr. Winnie Mutaki, Senior Medical Superintendent at Budaka Health Center IV, explains: “In the past, we have referred mothers away because they cannot afford sutures, which is so sad, because then, they would also have to spend on transport to the referral, yet they already do not have that money. Now we will have no reason to refer them away due to lack of supplies or equipment.” These kits are a true lifeline for mothers and babies—bringing us one step closer to a future where no mother or child dies from a preventable cause.
