It's true—our Healthy Forests program takes a summer break 😅🌞 to save volunteers from working in the heat and to avoid spreading invasive seeds. But, WOW, what a season it's been so far! 🌳 Across six workdays, 85 awesome volunteers joined forces to help remove 873 pounds non-native invasive plant material from Bacon Ridge Natural Area! Working together, we cleared over 17,000 square feet of forest understory of invasive plant species in just a total of 12 hours of volunteer work! 🌱 You all are AMAZING!! 💚 We’re so grateful to everyone who showed up, braved the thorns, dodged the poison ivy, and made a real impact on our local, protected forests this spring.
