The spotted owl faces one of its greatest threats: Congress. Last fall, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service released its Barred Owl Management Strategy, a cohesive plan to deal with the threat from non-native barred owls. Now, two Congressional Review Act resolutions have been introduced that would invalidate the Strategy. About Us Campaigns Get Involved Blog Radio Shows Contact Us More Our forests and public lands are threatened by intensive logging and wildfire suppression practices deplete our forests and endanger our wildlife and watersheds. We monitor all proposed logging projects in Northwest Californiax27s national forests and watchdog public land managers to ensure they follow the law. We utilize legal tools to protect threatened and endangered species like the northern spotted owl from damaging human activities such as logging of suitable habitat for oldgrowth dependent species. EPIC is powered by our members not big grants or corporate sponsors.
