More than 100 law enforcement agencies across the state of Ohio conducted a human trafficking crackdown operation last week. As a result of the crackdown, 135 people were arrested. According to the press release, 32 people were arrested on felony charges, including promoting prostitution, compelling prostitution, seeking sex with a minor and drug possession and/or trafficking. 103 people seeking to buy sex were arrested and charged with engaging in prostitution or solicitation. 67 human trafficking survivors were referred to health-care and social services organizations. Search warrants were executed by local law enforcement on massage parlors in Toledo, the Cleveland area and the Akron area. The nine search warrants resulted in the seizure of $62,000 and evidence for long-term investigations. According to the release, the Toledo Police Department executed search warrants on three massage parlors suspected of human trafficking activities. As a result of those search warrants, four people were charged with promoting prostitution, including some who were charged with solicitation after a positive HIV test. The Toledo area massage parlors listed in the press release were Sky Spa at 135 S. Byrne Road; Asian Healthy Massage,325 W. Alexis Road; and Asian Massage, 5333 Secor Road. The authorities also seized $32,000. According to court documents, Seonah Jang was arrested on Sept. 24 and charged with promoting prostitution, establish, maintain, operate, manage, supervise, control or have interest in a brothel. According to the documents, Jang knowlingly operated an Asian Massage at 5333 Secor Road as a brothel.
