Hello Firebirds Community! Unfortunately our HS Boys were not able to get the job done on Friday night, losing 33-17 to Tempe in the D1 State Championship. The boys were in the fight (10-12 at half, only down 17-19 at the 50 min mark), but Tempe finished the stronger. There was a large crowd on the sideline cheering loudly for the boys and we thank all that turned up and those that were cheering from afar. Coach Brett and I have done this for 14 yrs and now with all our boys graduated from high school, we are both retiring from active coaching. We thank you all for your participation and your support over the years! Many lifelong memories have been made. At this point the Firebirds will go dormant as there has been no-one identified to continue it on. It's CHAMPIONSHIP FRIDAY!!! The Firebirds U19 Boys are in the RugbyAZ Division 1 State Championship tonight! They will face 4 time defending champs, Tempe Rugby Club. Date: Friday, April 25. Time: 7.00 pm kickoff Location: Reata Sports Complex, field 17, in north Scottsdale. 9809 E McDowell Mountain Ranch Rd, Scottsdale, AZ, USA. Field 17 is at the southern end. We'd love to see all past and present Firebirds at the match to cheer on the boys! (fb)
