The mission of Stem Atlanta Women is to enlighten, educate, and empower women and girls to leverage global opportunities in STEM and acquire the skills necessary to succeed in the 21st Century. The organization envisions enhancing and increasing the talent pipeline in STEM careers for women and girls in underrepresented and underserved communities. It aims to disrupt unconscious bias in tech and bridge the gender gap in STEM education.
Programs and Initiatives
Stem Atlanta Women offers a variety of programs that foster hands-on, project-based learning. These include master classes, tech labs, hackathons, conferences, and entrepreneurial training. Stem Atlanta Women was founded by Dr. Maxine Cain, an influential figure in the tech industry known for her leadership in promoting inclusivity and innovation in STEM education. Dr. Cain has been recognized with several awards, including the Biden President’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the Georgia Outstanding Citizen Award.
