Today, we pause to remember and honor all the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. This Memorial Day, we hold a special place in our hearts for the courageous women who wore the uniform with pride and paid the ultimate price for our freedom. We remember heroes like: 1LT Ashley White-Stumpf, U.S. Army, killed in action in Afghanistan, 2011. SPC Brittany Gordon, U.S. Army, lost in Afghanistan, 2012. SSG Donna Johnson, U.S. Army, killed by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan, 2012. LTJG Valerie Cappelaere Delaney, U.S. Navy, lost in a training accident, 2013. CPT Jennifer Moreno, U.S. Army, combat nurse, killed in action in Afghanistan, 2013. Staff SGT Shelbe Butner, U.S. Army, killed in a training accident in Georgia, 2025. Their stories remind us that courage has no gender, and sacrifice knows no bounds. Let us never forget those who gave all. Take a moment today to reflect, honor, and give thanks.
