One of the biggest impacts we saw after drilling our first water well was that children in the communities were much safer. We talk often about how it is the kids jobs to go get water, and that they have to walk miles to find water. If you have never been to Uganda it is hard to picture what that looks like. This photo is a great image of what is looks like in most areas. When we say that they are walking miles, we do not mean they are in populated busy areas. Usually they are on remote roads, away from the community. I'm sure you can imagine that young kids in remote areas, away from the people that keep them safe can lead to dangerous situations. Providing clean water, close to the community not only keeps kids healthy but it keeps them away from dangerous situations! (fb)
