South Sudan’s national Blind Football Team have won the African Championship Division 2, defeating hosts Uganda 3–0 in the final! ⚽ Yona Sabri Ellon opened the scoring from the penalty spot (his fifth goal of the tournament) before captain Martin Ladu Paul added two more to seal the victory. This is a historic moment for a team competing in a sport that only arrived in South Sudan five years ago. Their success is a strong reminder of the power of inclusive sports. The team now advance to the Division 1 African Championship next year, the next step on the path to the Paralympics in 2028.
