WIYN Observatory is owned/operated by the WIYN Consortium, consisting of U. of Wisconsin, Indiana U., NSF NOIRLab, Penn State U., Purdue U. and Princeton U. WIYN Observatory is owned/operated by the WIYN Consortium. The WIYN Telescope, a 3.5-meter instrument employing many technological breakthroughs, is the newest and second largest telescope on Kitt Peak. TO ADVANCE ASTRONOMICAL RESEARCH AND EDUCATION BY CONSTRUCTING AND OPERATING THE WIYN OBSERVATORY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ALLOWING THE SCIENTISTS OF THE MEMBER PARTIES TO OBTAIN OBSERVING TIME.
