Bay Philharmonic honors longtime supporter and friend, Mingwei Lena Zee (middle, with David Lam and Mary Lynn Pelican) who passed away peacefully at home on October 21. Lena will be missed for her silly sense of humor, her generous spirit, and her commitment to always lending a helping hand to those in need. Lena held several leadership roles within the community over the years, including organizations such as the CBC and Rotary Club. In lieu of flowers, her family encourages those wishing to honor her to carry on her spirit of helping others by finding an opportunity to do the same, whether it be a simple gesture to a friend in need or volunteering in a service role. For those who still may wish to make a donation, Lena set up a scholarship called the “Kindness Memorial Scholarship” in memory of her grandson with Centerville Presbyterian Church.
