The Friends of Tijeras Pueblo invite you to attend their next lecture on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 to be given by Danielle Marie Huerta, Ph.D. Huerta's talk, "Glittering and Glassy: Late Rio Grande Glaze Ware, Traditional Ecological Knowledge and the Effects of Spanish Colonial Mining, A.D. 1598-1700 Past, Present and Future" synthesizes her recent dissertation work which investigates how the production of Late Rio Grande Glaze Ware (RGGW) pottery and associated Traditional Ecological Knowledge surrounding the place-based significance of galena lead ore may have been affected by Spanish colonial mining practices during the seventeenth century. The lecture will be held at 6:30 pm in the Sandia Ranger Station conference room, located at 11776 State Highway 337 in Tijeras, NM. On Saturday, October 11, 2025, the Special Collections Library in Albuquerque will host the "Ever Changing, Ever Growing - 1680 Pueblo Revolt: Proclamation of Validation and Resilience of Puebloan Cultures" presentation by Jon Ghahate. Most people today are unaware of this monumental historic event which remains the core of Pueblo cultures, histories, and languages.
