YCL congratulates Drew Stanton, Lincoln High School Class of 2025, on his upcoming graduation. This fall Drew will attend Oregon State Honors College to major in mechanical engineering. Drew has really enjoyed the YCL hands-on shifts, like the soup kitchen where he gets to see the impact he is making. He was surprised to see YCL members' passion for volunteering. "I never knew how dedicated some of the peers around me are at helping others through volunteering, and it’s great to see how many people contribute," he shares. Drew also enjoyed packing meals for Meals on Wheels and volunteering at the Oregon Humane society because he has two pets of his own and liked helping those that haven’t yet been adopted. When he's not volunteering, Drew spends his time playing water polo, hanging out with friends, and eating good food. We wish you the best of luck next year, Drew. YCL congratulates Mackenzie Volm, Tualatin High School Class of 2025, on her upcoming graduation! She will attend the University of Utah this fall, majoring in Business. Mackenzie shares that YCL has taught her that volunteering is so important to so many people, and even though it feels so small to us, it really affects others' lives. What has she enjoyed most about her YCL experience? "Getting to spend more time with my mom, while helping the community!" Her favorite volunteer experiences have been cooking for the Ronald McDonald House. She also really enjoys volunteering at With Love. "It's a small thing I can do bi-weekly that I know helps other." In her spare time, Mackenzie enjoys water polo, pickleball, swimming and crafts. Thank you for your passion of helping others, Mackenzie!
