Project Vida begins with the understanding that communities, like people, are living organisms. Project Vida Health Center is a page where we want to inform our community of all the programs. We Project Vida's mission is to create an 'active community' -- one that can envision its future and move toward that vision. Many of the staff began as community clients, then volunteers, and now leaders in housing, health care, child development and other community services. Programs emerge from an annual Community Congress and other community input. Project Vida has developed 350 low income apartments, a nationally recognized community health program, and has played a major role in developing wider community collaboratives to address indigent health care, youth recreation activities, substance abuse, and other wider issues.
