New Haven Reads is partnering with New Haven Free Public Library to "Level Up"! The Summer Reading Challenge will kick off Saturday, May 31. You can sign up for the challenge and pick up your reading log. Open to kids, teens, and their families and caregivers. (fb)
Come read and play with us at New Haven Reads! NHR presents our Tots & Tales program, ages 0-4 years, where kids and parents enjoy story time, educational activities, and free books! Held the first Friday of the month at The Rose Center, 101 Ashmun St., from 11:30am to 12pm. Our first program is Friday, June 6th! Sharing the joy and power of reading New Haven Reads increases the literacy skills of children by providing individually tailored oneonone after school tutoring educational family support and a community book bank all at no cost to participants. Since New Haven Reads was founded in 2001 we have supported more than 7000 students and distributed over 2. 5 million books back into the community thanks to the help of over 6000 volunteers. Every week our oneonone tutoring and PreKKindergarten programs respectively serve over 350 children at three New Haven locations.
