We are absolutely bursting with joy after this weekend’s two-day adoption event… because 22 cats found their happily-ever-afters!!! 🎉 Every single adoption is a reason to celebrate, but seeing so many kitties find their families all at once felt downright magical. Our hearts are overflowing! And there were some extra-special moments we’ll never forget. Cobalt, our longest resident and a brave FeLV+ kitty, was the very last adoption of the event! And Samosa and Wonton, our sweet bonded pair, finally found their forever home together after months of waiting! Everyone loves a good love story, and our adopters have some of the best ones. These stories remind us why we do what we do. Each adoption is more than just a cat finding a home; it’s the start of a lifelong bond. Today, we’re sharing one such story about Church (formerly Nosferatu) and his adopter, whose connection was instant: “After moving into my very own apartment, I debated on whether or not I should adopt a cat for about a year. After researching some shelters in my area, I came across Paws and Claws. I went on their website, and the very first picture I saw was of Church (formerly Nosferatu). I was able to schedule a meet and greet with him very quickly, and immediately fell in love. He strutted out of the carrier and right up to me, confident as can be. One of my favorite things about him is his classic "head tilt" as he walks. “I took him home and he adapted immediately. There was no adjustment period for us- he knew he was home! His favorite activities include playing with his wand toy, or his ultimate favorite - a yellow ducky kicker toy. He beats it up every night around 9:30 without fail. He also loves sitting on his window perch watching the world go by. Church also sleeps in bed with me every night, usually right by my head! All of my friends and family tell me I have the friendliest cat in the world, and I agree. He has never met a stranger he didn't like. I feel like the luckiest girl ever - and I have Paws and Claws to thank for that.
