We were happy to host middle and high school students from Fox River Christian Church on Tuesday. They were a great group and completed a wide variety of tasks for The FOOD Pantry. They all spent their volunteer time working hard, getting to know one another, and supporting the community. Collaboration in Action: TEFAP Distribution Hub for Waukesha County When nonprofits come together, communities thrive. The FOOD Pantry is proud to serve as the central distribution hub for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Waukesha County — thanks to a strong partnership with Community Action Coalition For South Central Wisconsin, Inc. (CAC). While CAC coordinates TEFAP food distribution across Jefferson and Waukesha Counties, The FOOD Pantry provides warehouse space and logistics support to assist in the delivery of all of the TEFAP food for Waukesha County. This ensures that out Waukesha County TEFAP agencies including Hebron Housing Services, Sussex Outreach Services, Friends with Food, The Salvation Army Waukesha, The Women's Center, and The Hope Center have access to non-perishable foods, frozen items, fresh produce, and milk. Why does this matter? Our collaboration ensures that perishable items like milk and fresh produce reach agencies faster, giving them more time to distribute food to neighbors in need. From January to June 2025, we’ve helped distribute over 53,700 pounds of perishable food. Meghan Mietchen , Executive Director at CAC, “Collaboration is in the heart of everything we do.
