Cheshire Horse and Hound Foundation
The Cheshire Horse and Hound Foundation (CHHF) is a nonprofit organization exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3). It was established with several key objectives, including the preservation of open spaces, the support and training of horses and hounds, and the promotion of the history and traditions of hunting with hounds.
Mission and Activities
The CHHF is committed to preserving the natural environment by supporting conservation efforts. This includes organizing seminars focused on conservation and easements for open spaces. One of its notable events is the annual running of the Cheshire Races, which draws attention to the importance of open spaces and equestrian activities.
The organization also places emphasis on education. It provides opportunities such as pony camps for children, aiming to increase awareness among young people about the significance of open spaces and horse sports in environmental conservation.
Focus on Community and Conservation
As part of its mission to promote the cultural heritage of foxhunting, the CHHF works to ensure that future generations can appreciate and participate in this traditional sport. The foundation aligns with broader conservation goals by supporting the preservation of open spaces, which is crucial for maintaining biodiversity and supporting various field sports.
Legal Status
The CHHF operates as a tax-exempt organization under U.S. law, making it eligible to receive tax-deductible donations that support its conservation and educational initiatives. This status helps facilitate its mission by encouraging support from donors who value its objectives.

In Southeastern Chester County there exists one of the few remaining rural areas where this historic relationship continues and where open space has been preserved as a result of the efforts of those who have supported and developed Mr. Stewarts Cheshire Foxhounds since 1914.
