Last week, A team of dedicated Dollar Tree volunteers walked through neighborhoods in Sycamore Township to raise awareness about fire safety. The group distributed information to local homeowners about the American Red Cross Central & Southern Ohio Region's Fire Prevention Program. Through this program, residents can call the Red Cross to request free smoke detector installations provided by the Sycamore Township Fire Department. This outreach effort aimed to increase home safety, prevent fire-related injuries, and ensure more households have working smoke alarms. Volunteers successfully reached about 240 homes, spreading important information that could save lives. This Red Cross initiative is credited with saving 22,000 lives.
