This evening I had the honor of presenting the 2025 Bearcat Boss scholarship to recipient, LJ Strange! The scholarship is available to a MCHS graduating senior, with entrepreneurial dreams, achieving success to pay it forward to promote the growth of good in the world. Jackie was a Bearcat alum! 💜 Jackie built a home-care business in Muncie and turned it into a statewide operation. She was an open minded, brave, kind, genuine, bold and brilliant boss. Jackie believed in helping the most vulnerable, whether it were people or animals. Her leadership inspired her staff to find solutions and stretch themselves because the patients and families needed their care. It was hard work, but it was good work. Jackie also helped fellow entrepreneurs in the community to grow their businesses and championed those who rescued and cared for animals in this community and beyond. Jackie’s success built her legacy, The Jackie L Michael Foundation. It celebrates her life and passion for animals. Our mission is promoting the betterment of animals through activism, caring and education. LJ, our amazing 2025 Bearcat Boss recipient will be attending Purdue University, majoring in Neurobiology. The Foundation enjoyed colaborating with Kishel Photography for the 2025 R4R! Thank you Amanda, Joni, and Rachel! We had so much fun Friday night at the Muncie Civic Theatre, at the show themed in 90’s grunge! From VIP hour, receiving a complimentary "swag bag" to interacting with puppies in the "snuggle room" to savoring exquisite "backstage bites" prepared by VKA Kitchen and Catering, to witnessing the impressive Kishel models strut down the runway, by Sight and Sound, in hair and makeup by Ambers, in fashion by the Buckle, emceed by the Civic’s lovely Executive Director, Laura Williamson, AND the endearing ARF animals on the runway made for a memorable event!
