The future of construction depends on the people willing to build it. At Merit Apprenticeship Alliance, we are committed to keeping our industry strong by supporting both today’s contractors and tomorrow’s workforce. We recruit hardworking individuals who want a future in the trades. We manage their apprenticeship program and provide NCCER-accredited classroom training so contractors can focus on getting the job done. Our role is to make it easier for contractors to meet apprenticeship requirements, stay competitive on public bids, and build teams that will carry the industry forward. By investing in apprentices, we are investing in the future of construction. Let’s build that future together. #BuildYourTeam #ConstructionApprenticeship #MeritApprenticeshipAlliance #WorkforceDevelopment #NCCER #FutureOfConstruction #TrainTheNextGeneration (fb)
Merit Apprenticeship Alliance: Heat Safety First for Our Crews Why Heat Safety Matters At Merit Apprenticeship Alliance, our priority is to keep every apprentice and crew member safe and supported on the job. That includes preparing for the dangers of extreme heat. Tip 1: Schedule Smart & Shade the Site Tip 2: Hydration—Your Best Tool Tip 3: Gear Up Smart Tip 4: Breaks That Actually Cool Tip 5: Spot the Signs—Act Fast Know the signs of heat-related illness: Heat exhaustion: heavy sweating, cramps, dizziness, nausea, or headache Heat stroke: hot and dry skin, confusion, fainting—this is a medical emergency What to do: Move the worker to a cooler area Remove excess clothing and begin cooling with water or ice Provide water if the worker is conscious Call 911 if symptoms worsen or do not improve Tip 6: Training & Emergency Planning Supervisors should monitor workers and check the heat index regularly A Special Word for Apprentices As apprentices, they’re building skills, confidence, and a career. But safety comes first. If you feel dizzy, sick, or overheated, say something. Report it. Ask for a break. Your health is more important than any deadline. We’re here to back you up. Conducting heat safety training across job sites Protecting our workforce by preparing crews for rising temperatures Because protecting people is how we build a stronger industry and a better future. #StaySafeInTheHeat #ConstructionSafety #HeatIllnessPrevention #ApprenticeStrong #MeritAlliance #BuildSafe #JobsiteWellness #ProtectTheCrew #ConstructionLife #SafetyMatters (fb)
