#ChildrenAndYouthInCareDay was created because of young people in and from care who shared their stories and experiences through the 'My Real Life Book' report. They wanted a day to be recognized for their contributions, strength, and resilience. This Children And Youth In Care Day, we’re proud to spotlight the life-changing impact of mentoring. With support from Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada, in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto, programs like Big Steps to Success connects children as young as seven to caring adults building resilience, confidence, and community connection one person at a time. These supports play a vital role in preventing the long-term effects of adverse childhood experiences.
