Engage • Grow • Lead • Transform
Creating thriving and equitable communities that equip youth and families to become change agents. Youth Alliance is a non-profit organization that serves San Benito and South Santa Clara Counties. We exist to create thriving and equitable communities that equip youth and families to become change agents. Youth Alliance (YA), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was founded in 1995 and began as a grassroots effort to increase youth voice, youth leadership and create social capital within communities of color. It has evolved into an agency that benefitted over 60,000 youth, families, and community members last year. Our mission is to create opportunities and space for youth and families to be heard, engaged, thrive, and lead. YA services seek to provide a continuum of support that includes in-school and after-school prevention programs, early intervention bilingual counseling and case management, intervention programs serving at-promise youth, and advocacy that engages youth, parents, and systems. Programs are located in targeted schools (31 sites), and the Youth Impact Centers (2) in San Benito and South Santa Clara County. YA strives to create thriving and equitable communities through comprehensive, innovative, and gender/gender expansive programs that equip youth and families to become change agents in their lives and communities.
We believe that to develop strong youth leaders, we must work to build safe and equitable systems and communities. This work is best done in partnership with youth, families, and stakeholders. YA prioritizes youth leadership and mentorship opportunities to support building youth power, access to education and employment, parent engagement & community mobilization. Youth Alliance utilizes a relationship based outreach model within a framework of youth development, culturally responsive family and personal healing, and social equity to engage, empower, and coalesce resources.
