What does a Waldorf High School education look like in practice? High School Highlights: This week in High School, students took an illuminating story-based journey in their Revolutions main lesson on the history of light—from darkness to the invention of the light bulb. They prepared speeches for a mock trial with students playing Zeus the Punisher and Prometheus the Giver of Fire to humans, judged by Fate. They planned how they would break out of old forms of presentations to create an art- and music-based immersive experience for our community for Senior Projects, and held a Socratic seminar discussing science—the times in history it was used for good, and the times it has been misused to harm others. Next up, our 9th and 10th graders will dive into the four writing commandments: 1. Start from the heart - Write what truly matters to you. 2. Write before you write - Use your journal to explore ideas first. 3. Write small - Focus on everyday moments — show, don’t tell. 4. Write real - Be authentic; that connection matters. These will guide their personal writing journeys, culminating in publishing a book written by all students in grades 9 through 12 to share with the public.
