As a 501c3 charitable organization, the mission of the Hudson Valley Film Commission is to create work and educational opportunities, by attracting, supporting and promoting local film, tv, photography, and new media work. To analyze the impact of regional production, the Hudson Valley Film Commission collects data to track the economic impact. Data includes scouting days, production days, local lodging information, local crew and cast hires, location fees, catering, transportation rentals and more. Since 2000, the film commission has supported and worked on hundreds of productions, helping to create thousands of jobs and over $500 million in regional economic development.
